Holy craft! I was on the Martha Stewart Show!
What an amazing opportunity. (Holy Craft! I am going to the Martha Stewart Show). We arrived at the studio at 8:30am. We were not sure at all, what our involvement would be with the show, so we didnt know what to expect. At first it just appeared we were there just in the general audience. Which was still fine with us. There were about 150 people there ready to cheer on our Craft Queen. After warming up the crowd, we were approached by the producer who identified us as “the bloggers”. “the bloggers” were taken into the studio first. What an Amazing studio. Everything was so pristine, so Martha! After we were taken to our seats and provided special permission to tweet, and blog during the show, we were armed with our ipad, netbooks, iphones and Hootsuite, ready to narrate the whole experience. Prior to the show starting–which was aired LIVE by the way!- the group of 10 of us were taken on a set tour, we got to see up close and personal Marthas kitchen, her garden and her craft area. Just so exciting. During the show we tweeted our little hearts out while trying also to watch the show!
Right at the beginning of the show Martha referenced us and they gave us a quick camera swoop. No perma smiles here, I was tooth to tooth, thrilled to be there!
Today’s topics were Whole Living (healthy living), David Spain a “Mossologist”, Home Depot demonstrating how to cover marker on a wall, and Martha did a photo mat craft with Jade Harrington, (www.jaderbomb.com) who is pledging to do 100 Martha Crafts in 100 days! OK, I admit, maybe the Salad, the Moss and the Marker, was not the most thrilling topics, but interesting and informative! I have a new found interest in moss now! The whole experience was exciting, just to see everything done from behind the scenes. When Martha came out she of course was poised and professional, but what I didnt expect is that she is stunning! I know she was a model prior to her MSL empire, but at 70 years old, she looks absolutely incredible. After all the segments, we were asked to come down on the set again, this time with Martha for a group photo!!! Martha spoke briefly to us, basically just telling us she looked forward to looking at our blogs!! Which is REALLLLY scary. Then we were dismissed. We received the audience swag, which consisted of a Magazine, a moss rock (so cute) the marker treatment and a Martha Stewart paper trimmer– SO COOL! But then as “the bloggers” we received an additional swag bag, that contained a ton of halloween paper, paint, paint dabbers, cute Halloween stickers for decoration and a fabulous paper cutter that cuts spider webs on the edge of paper! WoW.
I also got to met some other great bloggers. None of us had similar blogs, so it was fun to meet what other women are doing with Social Media Marketing.
